Carmen R. Apaza Named to Exclusive Membership Organization
Carmen R. Apaza celebrates 10 years in the government and public service arena

WASHINGTON, DC, August 19, 2011 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Carmen R. Apaza, Ph.D., Professor at the City University of New York, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in public administration.

Utilizing 10 years of experience, Dr. Apaza serves as a professor at the City University of New York. In her position, her responsibilities entail teaching public administration and international policies focusing on Latin America. Her research interests include corruption and government, contracting out, fraud and oversight mechanisms. Throughout her career, she has held managerial positions in the public sector and served as a consultant for international multilateral organizations. In addition to teaching at the City University of New York, she serves as senior consultant for the Organization of American States in Washington, D.C.

Dr. Apaza obtained her Bachelor of Law and Political Science from the University of San Marcos at Lima, Peru. She went on to achieve her Master of Public Administration from Syracuse University (2002) and her Ph.D. in Public Administration from American University (2009). Presently, she is a member of the Peruvian Association of Lawyers and the American Society for Public Administration. She attributes her success to her dedication to her studies, but principally to her spiritual devotion to God. In the future, she intends to write extensively on State administrative reforms in Latin America and other countries.
