The 7th annual Counter Terrorist Magazine's Homeland Security Professionals Conference expects record numbers - focus is on public and private partnerships in protecting the USA. Hosted by the Leon County Sheriff's Office Florida.
MIAMI, FL, February 02, 2012 /24-7PressRelease/ -- This year's 7th annual Counter Terrorist Magazine's Homeland Security Professionals conference is taking place at the Gaylord Palms in Orlando, Florida and big demand to hear the speakers is expected. Professionals won't just be attending from Florida's law enforcement, homeland security, Fire, rescue and emergency management. Past years have seen representatives from as far afield as Saipan and everywhere in the USA and Canada. This year's theme is expected to also draw significantly from private sector security.
SSI is bringing in one of the world's leading experts in the field of Hotel and Tourism security. Colonel Moshe Duvdevany is responsible for the security of the Israeli Ministry of Tourism, and Special event security throughout Israel. In the past, the former Israel Police Commander has headed up security for events such as the Maccabiah, Israel's unique international sporting event which is among the top five sporting events ever held. Given the threat level that Israel faces, Duvdevany's expertise is sought internationally. He gave briefings to the Indian security forces after the Mumbai attacks and personally supervised a program to make Israel's hotels more secure.
"It's the 21st century; mobility and the open world, the free competition and tremendous supply of hotel rooms on the one hand, and the increase in international terror, its sophistication and capabilities on the other, have brought about a change in the perception of security pertaining to tourism in general and to hotels in particular," states Duvdevany.
Duvdevany will speak about the dangers and threats to hotels and what they require in terms of a regional setup that will integrate all the hotels in a given area and coordinate with the various authorities (police, firefighters, ambulance service and local authorities). This also means providing professional training appropriate to modern security methods and knowledge about the use of security measures and other tools at the disposal of the security guard.
